Agility

Dog agility is a dog sport in which a handler directs a dog through an obstacle course in a race for both time and accuracy. The handler can touch neither dog nor obstacles. Consequently the handler's controls are limited to voice, movement, and various body signals, requiring exceptional training of the animal and coordination of the handler. The event is split into two groups, large dogs & small dogs.

Disc Dogs

Disc Dogs, also known as Frisbee dogs, compete in several different events including, Freestyle Flying Disc and Distance/Accuracy

Freestyle Flying Disc is the most popular form of competition for Disc Dogs. Freestyle is a free-form, choreographed routine between the dog and handler in which the pair will receive points for style, as well as the dog’s ability to catch each disc thrown by his or her handler.

Distance/Accuracy also known as Toss and Fetch is fast- paced a competition in which competitors have 60 seconds and one disc to score as many points as possible. Points are awarded based on zones of ten yards each. The further away the zone from the handler throwing the disc, the more points the team is awarded. Once the dog has caught the disc in a zone, he or she must return the disc to the handler in order for the team to attempt the next throw.

Disc Dog Competitions include Skyhoundz and the Ashley Whippet Invitational.

Diving Dogs

Diving Dog is a dog sport in which dogs compete in jumping for distance from a dock into a body of water. A team consists of one dog, of any type or size, and usually one handler but sometimes two handlers. Dogs must be over six months of age to compete. Handlers may use a toy, also known as the chase object. The dogs are not required to chase or retrieve the toy.

Jack Russell Racing

The exciting Jack Russell Terrier Races are categorized into two main race types: Flat and Hurdled or Steeplechase. The rules are fairly simple, the first dog across the line wins, however is in not always the dog that entered the catch pen who wins! The dogs chase a lure (usually a piece of scented fur), which is attached to a piece of string that is pulled along by a Lure machine.

Surfing Dogs

The premise of dog surfing couldn't be simpler. You get on the board. Your human takes you out, sets you up on a wave and you ride it in. But the skills are rare.

Your human’s job is an important one – going through breaking waves while balancing you wet and excited on a board can be challenging. The job of the human Canine Propulsion Unit (CPU) will remain an important one! This is a team work driven sport, the most team-centric dog sport around.
